Just a reminder Lip Blushing
Healing is a process that takes time. Some skin will heal faster than others, some skin will retain pigment longer, everyone is different.
Skin, lifestyle, tanning, weather & following aftercare..all these determine your permanent makeup outcome.
Lip Blushing will get darker and look uneven during the first stage of the healing process.
They will lighten up to 40% throughout the following weeks.
At the touch-up session we can make slight changes/alteration if needed.
Following the aftercare instructions is a vital part of achieving optimal results!
Neglecting or trying to rush the healing process will result in less than satisfactory results.
⚠️ IMPORTANT! Pre-Care Instructions

To ensure the best results and a smooth healing process, please follow these pre-care guidelines before your lip blush appointment:

Avoid Alcohol and Caffeine: Refrain from consuming alcohol and caffeine 24 hours before your appointment. These can cause increased sensitivity and may affect the healing process.

No Blood Thinners: Avoid blood thinners (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, or other medications) 3-5 days prior to the procedure. These can increase the risk of bleeding, which may affect the pigment retention and healing process. Always consult your doctor before discontinuing any medications.

No Retinol or Exfoliating Products: Avoid using products containing retinol, glycolic acid, or other exfoliants around the lip area for at least one week prior to the procedure. These can make your skin more sensitive and may interfere with the healing and pigment retention.

Avoid Lip Fillers: If you have had lip fillers, wait at least 4-6 weeks before scheduling your lip blush procedure. This ensures your lips are in a stable state before tattooing.

Keep Lips Hydrated: It’s important to keep your lips moisturized in the days leading up to your appointment. If your lips are dry, it’s best to hydrate them a week before the procedure. You can also use a sugar scrub to exfoliate and remove dry skin, allowing for better pigment retention and a smoother procedure.

No Sun Exposure or Tanning: Avoid sunbathing or tanning 5-7 days before your procedure. Sunburned lips will be more sensitive and may affect the procedure’s outcome.

No Herpes Outbreaks: If you are prone to cold sores or herpes outbreaks, it is highly recommended to take an antiviral medication (such as Valtrex) starting 2-3 days before the procedure, as the tattooing process can trigger an outbreak. Please consult with your doctor if you’re unsure.

Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment. Hydrated skin and lips will help with pigment retention and healing.

Wear a daily sunscreen to prevent the sun from prematurely fading the pigment in the skin.

If a product lightens, brightens or tightens avoid using it on or around your lips indefinitely.

We recommend yearly touch-ups to maintain the full color and shape.

After applying your makeup/foundation, take a damp Q-tip and clean off your lips: this allows the pigment to show through without looking muddled by makeup.

The Process of Lip Blushing

1. Consultation: Our process begins with a thorough consultation where we discuss your goals and preferences. We’ll choose the perfect pigment shade that complements your natural lip color and enhances your overall look.

2. Mapping and Design: Next, I carefully map and outline the shape of your lips. This step ensures symmetry and precision while allowing you to provide input on the shape and definition you desire.

3. Numbing: Once we’ve agreed on the design, a numbing cream is applied to ensure comfort during the procedure. This helps minimize any discomfort, so you can relax while the pigment is applied.

4. Pigment Application: Using a specialized tattooing machine, I gently apply the pigment in layers to create a smooth, even color and subtle definition. This process is gradual, allowing for precise control over the outcome.

5. Final Touches: After completing the application, we’ll review the results together to ensure you’re satisfied with the color and shape. Any necessary adjustments will be made before finishing the procedure.

6. Aftercare Instructions: I’ll provide you with detailed aftercare instructions to help promote proper healing and ensure the longevity of your results. To keep your lips moisturized and protected during the healing process, a tattoo butter will be provided. Following these instructions carefully will help achieve the best possible outcome for your Lip Blushing.

Side Effects After Lip Blushing (TEMPORARY)

After your Lip Blushing procedure, some temporary side effects are common as your lips heal. Here’s what you can expect:

- Redness and Swelling: Immediately after the procedure, your lips may appear redder than usual and slightly swollen. This is completely normal and should subside within a few hours to a day.

- Dryness and Flaking: Your lips may feel dry or tight, and you may notice some peeling or flaking as the skin heals. This is part of the natural healing process, and it’s essential to avoid picking at the area.

- Itching: Mild itching can occur as the skin heals. This is typical but should not be scratched to prevent irritation or disrupting the healing process.

- Color Darkening or Lightening: The color of your lips may appear darker right after the procedure. This will soften as the healing progresses, and the final color will be visible after a few weeks.

- Tenderness or Sensitivity: Your lips may feel tender or sensitive, especially in the first few days. This is normal, and the discomfort should ease as the healing progresses.

- Risk of Infection: While rare, infections can occur if proper aftercare is not followed. It’s crucial to keep the area clean and avoid touching the lips to reduce the risk of infection.

These side effects are generally short-lived and will fade as your lips heal. By following the aftercare instructions carefully, you’ll help ensure optimal results and smooth recovery. If you have any concerns during the healing process, don’t hesitate to reach out for guidance.
